Ratio Ingegneria was born from the experience built up over the last ten years serving the structural steel industry. Our core business is the preparation of executive and shop-detailing designs for structural steel: we work alongside steelwork contractors and designers on project development and constructability.
The projects we have delivered have let us grow professionally and develop the ability to find bespoke solutions, able to optimise the production and design process. Ratio, Reason, Reason: it is how we approach every job, weighing every decision so the result is both engineeringly sound and aesthetically valid.
Three engineers, one method.
Andrea De Angeli
Has built solid experience in structural steel design and executive drawings, working with numerous steelwork contractors in Tuscany and beyond. He personally oversees the constructive side of projects, reviewing client-proposed solutions and suggesting the necessary improvements. He has worked with internationally renowned architects and designs special structures such as helical staircases, for which he develops detailed numerical analyses. He also handles fire prevention.
Andrea Poggi
Set out early on a path of deepening expertise in structural design. He gained experience in Italy and abroad, also in fields outside pure structural work but always linked to calculation and analysis: in his early years he worked with CFD analysis applied to buildings (wind, fire and contaminant dispersion), then moved on to reinforced-concrete implementation plans and increasingly sophisticated spreadsheets, eventually arriving at Python programming. He works across the full range of structural design and is also a fire engineer, focused on the calculation of structures under fire conditions.
Alessandro Zompa
Arrived for an internship, and stayed. With dedication, curiosity and a drive to improve, he has become a key figure in the studio, actively contributing to improving the structural calculation process, to the production of projects and shop drawings. Today he is a fully trained, independent designer, able to handle structures of any kind.
